Awareness Rides
Awareness Ride - April 6th, 2024
On Saturday, April 6th, members of Stop Grand Oaks, Community Surrounding Grand Oaks, Keep Grand Oaks for The Horses and other friends joined together to participate in an Awareness Ride. The ride was created to bring attention to our beautiful rural areas and the need to save these areas from the destruction of development, particularly the Grand Oaks proposal to add 795 manufactuŕed homes.
The ride began at Cottom's A-1 Sod and Total Lawn Care with horses, riders, a hay wagon, ATV's, walkers, runners and a few vehicles, all decked out in Red, White and Blue for the ride theme. Participants made the trek to a private pasture next to the entrance of The Grand Oaks for photos and a short rest before heading back to the starting point for refreshments and prizes. It was a beautiful day and fun event to stress the importance of rural life, fresh air, clean water, an environment rich with wildlife and gorgeous trees and farmland to feed people.
